Integers are the set of whole numbers and their opposites. Integers to the right of 0 on a number line are positive numbers. Integers to the left of 0 on the number line are negative numbers. The absolute value of an integer is the integer's distance from 0.  |-8| is 8.  ← Negative Integers Positive Integers → 0 is neither positive or negative!
