Solving Division Equations Study Page

Use the menu below to learn, practice, and master the skills you need to understand Solving Division Equations!

Today's (**) extension will teach you about averages.
State tests never make averaging problems easy, but with a little practice, algebra does!
The extension comes with a guided practice and a double points quiz!

Solving Division Equations
1. Simplify
2. Use Inverse Operations to get the n alone.
3. Check your answer with substitution.
n/23 = 7             simplify 23 = 8
n/8 = 7             inverse of ÷ 8 is * 8
8n/8 = 7 * 8
n = 56
56 ÷ 8 = 7             substitute 56 for n
n = 56
