In today's **extension you will use a Venn Diagram to examine symmetry in the alphabet.

A figure has line symmetry if it can be folded or reflected so that the two overlapping parts of the figure are congruent. The line of reflection is called the line of symmetry.

In the case of a regular polygon the number of lines of symmetry will match the number of angles.

Special Notice! - Rectangles do not have diagonal symmetry!

The line does create congruent triangles, but they do not match up when folded!  Try folding a piece of paper to learn this.
